Designer and researcher working with textiles, sustainability and material based storytelling.

Hi!

I'm a designer and researcher who works on projects exploring material based storytelling through investigative topics around sustainability across multiple disciplines. I’m particularly interested in working with living systems in search for better fabrication methods which carry a story of human- nature relationships.

After graduating BA Textile design (First Class Honours) in Heriot Watt University, Scottish Borders I have worked as woven textile designer for luxury market. This experience taught me about the traditional and current manufacturing methods and made me wonder if alternative ways are possible. To investigate the topic, I studied the MA Material Futures at Central St Martins. During this time I turned my practice towards an interdisciplinary approach to experimental material research. My latest project Myco Colour uses living fungi to colour materials- a new and sustainable dyeing method.
